The next general elections will be held in multiple phases next year and be completed in time to constitute the 16th Lok Sabha by June 1,
The Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath had recently reported in the meeting that the Indian General Elections 2014 will be conducted in multiple phases which starts in the mid March 2014 and will be completed to form the 16th Lok Sabha of India by 1st June 2014.
It is to be noted that the current 15th Lok Sabha of India will be completed its constitutional term on 31st May 2014.
The Voting for electing the Members of Parliament in the Lok Sabha at all the Parliamentary Constituencies of India.
About 780 million people might be casting their vote for the Indian General Elections 2014 at over 800,000 polling booths by using 1.18 million electronic voting machines for the 543 seats in the Lok Sabha.
The Election Commission of India ECI had started the preparation for the Indian General Elections 2014 to form the 16th Lok Sabha.
The Chief Election Commissioner V S Sampath had said that the announcement of the schedule and date of polling in the Indian General Elections 2014 for the 16th Lok Sabha will made 6 weeks before the 1st day of poll.
The Election Commission of India ECI are in the process of Summary Revision of electoral roll for the year 2014 all over India and the new electoral roll will be released in a month.
